Gulab Jamun : A very popular Indian Dessert

Ingredients
Khoa ( condesed milk) at room temperature : 2 cups
All purpose flour : 1 Cup
Sooji ( semolina ) : 1 tbsp
Baking powder : 2 pinch
Oil/ghee : to fry
For Sugar Syrup :
Sugar : 3 cup
Water : 2 cup
Rose essence : 1 tsp
Cardamom powder : 1/2 tsp
Milk : apx 1/2 cup to make the dough

Method : How to make Gulab Jamun

  • Mix the khoa, flour, baking powder well.
  • Add a little bit of milk if required to get a soft dough. 
  • Make small balls and keep aside.

For Sugar Syrup :

  • Heat sugar and water till sticky consistency. Add cardamom powder and rose essence.

For Gulab Jamun :

  • Heat the oil/ghee on a very low flame and fry the balls till golden brown.
  • Do not to increase the heat as the balls will not get cooked from inside and will remain hard.
  • Immediately after frying, put the balls in the warm sugar syrup.
  • Keep Gulab Jamun covered for atleast an hour in sugar syrup to get well soaked in the syrup.
  • Serve Hot .
