Badami Gosht Recipe : A popular Indian Mughlai Dish
Lamb Meat cut into cubes : 500 gms
Yogurt/Curd : 1 cup
vegetable refined oil : 5 tblsp
cinnamon sticks : 2 no.
Chopped garlic cloves : 1tsp
Bkack cardamom : 2 no.
Chopped Onion : 2 no.
Chopped ginger : 1 tsp
saffron (kesar) threads, soaked in 2 tblsp boiling water : 1 tsp
chili powder : 1/2 tsp
Almond paste : 1/2 cup
Salt : 1 to taste
Dried red chillies : 2
Method : How to make Badami gosht:
Heat up oil in a heavy pan.
Add cinnamon, cloves and cardamom and fry for a minute.
Add chopped onion and stir fry till soft
Add chopped garlic and ginger and fry for 3 minutes, stirring continuously.
Add lamb pieces and fry until brown for about 5 minutes.
Whip/beat yogurt, saffron mixture, salt and chili powder and mix in to lamb cubes.
Stir fry for 5 minutes.
Add almond paste and whole chilies to lamb cubes, stir well to mix paste with gravy.
lower the heat and cook for 35 minute over low heat till lamb is cooked.ow temperature) for 35-40 minutes or until lamb is cooked throughly.
Serve hot with rice or Indian bread.
